En se baladant en vélo dans les rues, il faut imaginer pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas BM qu’il y a des centaines de camps et même plus qui vont du camp individuel ( la personne venant en voiture, montant sa tente juste à coté, décrochant son vélo de sa voiture ) aux camps à thème avec des installations impressionnantes, juste quelques photos ..

Lancé en 1986 à San Francisco, Burning Man se veut un événement indéfinissable, entre célébration de la contre-culture et retraite spirituelle. La tradition, qui a donné son nom au festival, veut que soit brûlée la statue géante d'un homme en fin de rassemblement. Le samedi soir , la majorité des personnes se rassemblent autour du Man encerclé par l’ensemble des Art-cars dans un brouhaha indescriptible car tous les véhicules mutants ont leur propre sono qui jouent à pleine puissance. Je me suis mis à l’écart pour avoir un autre point de vue. ( en 2019, j’étais en hauteur dans la benne.

Le dimanche soir, le Temple va bruler, En plus de l'incendie du « Man », celui d'un bâtiment appelé Le Temple est également devenu une tradition au fil des ans. L'origine du Temple remonte à l'édition de l'an 2000, quand l'artiste David Best construit le premier pour commémorer la disparition d'un de ses amis, mort dans un accident de moto, alors qu'il était en route pour le BM. Les années suivantes le Temple s’agrandit et accueille toute l'humanité en commémoration.
Après 2 années de Covid et d’absence du Temple, beaucoup de décès justement liés au Covid commémorés cette année.
Le Temple est devenu un lieu spirituel. Certains l'utilisent comme un lieu de contemplation, de méditation, un lieu de repos, de réflexion, de rituels, de réunions, de mariages, pour faire le deuil d'un proche, d'un animal de compagnie, etc. Certains participants y laissent des lettres, des objets, en commémoration, en font une sorte de thérapie, d'aide et d'apaisement aux épreuves de la vie. Pour beaucoup, le Temple est réellement un « temple ».
C'est le dimanche que ce bâtiment est incendié, marquant ainsi la fin du festival. Les participants se regroupent autour du périmètre sécurisé du Temple en silence. Aucune musique n'est jouée pendant ce moment, qui est ressenti comme un moment de recueillement, de « purification », de soulagement pour tous ceux qui y ont laissé quelque chose.
« Pour que les gens se sentent en sécurité, ressentent et expriment une émotion profonde et pour qu'ils puissent guérir, les temples doivent être beaux et délicats tout en étant forts pour apporter un soutien réconfortant », disait David Best.

Cette année, j’ai aussi apporté dans le temple une photo de notre chienne Laïka, qui nous a accompagné 15 ans et de sa copine Brisby notre lapin 8 ans 🥲.

Mon Burning Man ne serait et n’aurait pas été possible sans le magnifique camp SUBLIME OASIS et mes amis américains qui ont comme ont dit en français : “le coeur sur la main”. Un don permanent, un partage, un esprit Burner ++.
Depuis notre rencontre en 2016, quand Ghislaine et moi avons garé notre RV, par le hasard , juste à coté de leur camp.
Ils m’ont trouvé une Yourte et pas une simple petite tente 🏕, j’ai partagé leur repas 🍕 , utilisé plus que prévu la bicyclette électrique de Don 😊 et même pu prendre quelques douches 🛀
My Burning Man would not and would not have been possible without the magnificent SUBLIME OASIS camp and my American friends who have as they say in French: “le coeur sur la main”. A permanent gift, a sharing, a Burner spirit ++.
Since our meeting in 2016, when Ghislaine and I parked our RV, by chance, right next to their camp.
They found me a yurt and not just a small tent 🏕, I shared their meal 🍕, used Don's electric bicycle more than expected 😊 and even got to take a few showers 🛀

Enfin l’Exodus , le retour à l’autre monde et cette année, cela n’a pas été facile pour les milliers de voitures ou RV, 7 à 15h d’attente pour ressortir de BRC jusqu’à la route goudronnée et on comprend pourquoi en regardant les photos ci-dessous montrant les 14 files de voitures et RV sur plusieurs kilomètres se finissant par une seule voie et donc une sortie sur la nationale au goutte à goutte. Pour moi facile avec le Burner Express, cool, on court-circuite par la droite.
mais on voit aussi que l’esprit Burner n’est pas toujours aussi présent que prôné tant les témoignages de vols ou les abandons de vélos ou autres détritus sont répandus sur la toile à travers des photos . Le “home” tant décrit se perd peut être avec une certaine idée d’un Burning Man “instagrammable” en oubliant les principes énoncés depuis 36 ans maintenant . dommage.
